Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2006 gmc envoy will not go into 4 wheel drive
with the motor taken off the t case and pulling on
the spin shaft manually

I have the actuator taken off the t case that switches from 4x4 to 2x4 and so on and I would think you should be able to switch from 2x4 to 4x4 manually by moving the shaft that the actuator bolts to but I can't
