Over heating 4.0

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Jeep 4.0 gauge reads normal but then drops
way down but in fact it s really getting hotter

1 Answer

which gauge? I think this is the same issue I had. Easy fix if its the oil pressure gauage. There is a sensor in the engine bay, just google 2000 jeep grand Cherokee (or whatever jeep model you have) and then type in oil pressure sensor (assuming this is the gauge that is going back and forth). Just to make sure, is it just the gauge that is messed up, or can you actually tell the car is overheating or something?
