Front of the engine down low where the engine mates up with the transmission. If you can't find the starter on your own you should NOT be working on your vehicle. Best of luck with it.
Lol thank you. I was trying to help my husband. My car wouldn't start and he was sure it had to be the starter since it wasn't clicking and all the dash lights/interior lights worked fine. Ended up jumping my car and it started right up....Now is it the battery or alternator?! Or something else. Starts right up usually but after sitting over night I have to hold the key down 5+ seconds to start
First thing....always look at the easy important stuff first. Have the battery charged and tested. Check all electrical connections at the battery, starter and alternator. These connections must be absolutely clean, tight and free of corrosion. Next I would have the alternator tested if necessary. This is a free service at your local O'reilly Auto Parts store (or similar store). You must make sure that the parts that activate and power the starter are in good shape. Throwing parts at it is never a good idea and it is expensive. Keep us posted.
