Transmission issue

Hi I have a 2001 Honda Accord that's shifting
hard,when I take off from dead stop it's like it's
taking off in 4th gear.if I do it manually and shift
each gear it seems ok.any ideas?

an older honda may have a cable from the accelerator linkage at the "throttle port" to the tranny so that the tranny knows what to do , it might just be gummed up . many work from computer command but the tranny needs info from somewhere for shift points ,
