1997 ford150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The truck start and then don't start sometimes. I
noticed that the light flicker on and off when I'm
trying to start it with the door open. It makes me
think that it could be electrical. The gear handle
seems to be a little off the "P". The battery,
alternator, and transmission have been checked ok.
Any suggestions?

Push the gear select all the way up to make sure it's in park there's a switch for that , then see if it'll start in "N" some will some won't ., when it does start does the light flicker with the door open also ?,
