2005 Ford F-150, programming new key fob

Trying to put truck into programming mode, 8 times off and on with ignition switch within
10 seconds, door locks should lock and unlock putting truck in programming mode,
Nothing happens, have tried repeatedly, cannot get truck into programming mode. Any
thoughts?
