I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Limited that won't start on park, I have to put the shifter on neutral to start it, and it won't shift to drive. Every time I shift it to drive, the indicator on the dash board indicates that I am on both neutral and drive at the same time. I do not know what to do, help please!

Neutral safety switch is what it sounds like.

what can you do when your gear shift is registering that it is in reverse when it actually positioned in park? I just experienced this and had to turn the car off or else it would have keep moving backward. Now i am not able to turn the car back on without it being in the park position. How do i fix it to at least get it to the mechanic or do i have to call a tow truck? 1 Answer
