Daughter just moved NYC to LA. Need dependable car $7k

Am thinking Protege5 or Ford Focus, under 70k miles. Should I consider VW's?  She's not a gearhead but at 21, enjoys driving.   Thoughts/concerns?  I know I need local mechanic to review pre-purchase; how do I find one from here?

Ask DavidH25 about Toyotas...personally have never owned a MORE reliable vehicle...click on DavidH25 and send him a PM~....Toyota will get you there in one piece~
