What makes a good deal better than a fair deal with a bigger savings?

I've noticed a lot of variation in the grades given to deals.  What are the criteria?  Is there a place to go to view the criteria?

Consider the TRIM levels and years as you monitor pricing. Focus on same year to same year - same trim to same trim. A Base vs. loaded model with all the loaded options has a wide delta in price.
