You will save interest charges for sure. Some dealers don't care if you pay with cash, the price is the price and they won't budge, but some dealers still go with the old "cash is king" and will move some on prices. So shop around, but be smart don't revel that your paying cash until you get the best price.

The old adage was Cash Is King... But that never was true..... The first thing I’d say is: I’m looking to buy a car now and am looking for your best financing deals. Dealers make more on financing than they make on the sale… REALLY. So with the prospect to make more money from you, they’ll bend over backwards to please you. And you’ll get a lower price than you would have gotten if you started out implying this is a cash deal. Find a car; then when you get to the finance guy, listen to all the financing programs they have to offer. Then tell him you want to pay cash. After you pick him up off the floor, don’t let anyone sway you. And they can try to raise the price, but they really can’t. If you reach an impasse and they say you can’t have the car at that price, just get up and walk out. I assure you that they won’t let you reach the door. It’s a sale and they need to pile up as many sales as they can each month to better the price they get from the manufacturer.

You will also save money over the long run by not paying interest. Hope that helps! Jim
