Question type: General

Hello all, I am looking at purchasing a 2019 GMC
Terrain Denali with the 2.0L Turbo engine. I am just
wondering if premium fuel is requires. Owners
manual says 93 octane is highly recommended
but 87 octane will be fine. Thankyou.

Back away from the turbo engine, even if the fuel consumption looks good the maintenance and repairs get costly.

I would opt for the standard V6 power if you can find one. Earlier turbos don't hold up as well and performance is limited. You will get better performance from using the non-trurboed power plant if you don't have a heavy foot. My 2016 Denali Acadia gets a solid 20 MPG with all around driving.

Like you read, 87octane will be fine, but with 93 octane you will have better performance.
