Car purchase out of state and registration

Question type: General

We are looking at a vehicle in Virginia and we live in
Connecticut. We would have it delivered to us. How would
the registration process go? Would the dealership register
the vehicle for us in CT or would we have to do that
ourselves?

You will need to do that yourself. In addition you don't pay sales tax to Virginia. You pay your home State of Connecticut. Hope that helps! Jim

Very Helpful! So we would pay for the vehicle through CarGuru minus any salestax and then pay the CT salestax when we register it at the DMV? Sound correct?
