The eighth character of your VIN is the letter L which tells us it's a 5.4L V8. Hope that helps! Jim
A 5.4 In 1987? Maybe a 5.8 (351).

That's what the decoder says. I thought it was small for a motorhome as well. But the rest of the VIN decodes as follows: 1=USA, F=Ford, D=Incomplete Vehicle, K=10,001 to 14,000 lbs., E30=Econoline E350 (RV Cutaway), L (1997 and prior)=5.4L 8 Cylinder, 5=Check Digit Ignore, H=1987, H=Loraine Ohio Assembly Plant (Closed), B=Ford Division, 1=First Digit of Sequential Unit Number of the Vehicle.
