A friend did something similar to his old S10. Installed the larger engine, trans. They had to cut some of the frame to get the exhaust to clear. The truck was crazy fast, but not very safe to drive, as the body and brakes are not designed to handle that extra HP. It's all custom work, so expect to work through some issues. You can search online to see if you can find any videos or information on others who did the same swap.

Why not stick to something like a 350? If you get a 440 Small block it is a custom racing block that is taller than a standard SBC which would make it even harder to fit in. You can get crazy power out of a 350 or 383.
