Is it ok to go from 215/70R16 to 215/55R16 on my Saturn
Vue 5 speed? The deal on the 215/55R16 studded tires are
awesome. Will it be safe, though?

The 55 series tires are way shorter that what you have now (2 1/2"). Not a good idea.
