Best 2020 or 2021 SUV/wagon to buy

If you were me & had $40K (Canadian) to buy a new mid size SUV (gasoline or hybrid); looking for 4cyl, a 5 to 8 seater with at least 200 hp or greater or turbo with best gas mileage & max cargo space, has most standard options, reliability & holds its resale value, between Subaru, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai or North American vehicles, which one(s) would you buy/recommend? I am leaning towards a Subaru or Toyota, but willing to consider other makes.
My main concerns are gas mileage, cargo space, reliability & resale value. Options are not that big a deal, but I will consider them.
Thanks for your advise/help. I would really appreciate your response(s).

I think you need to rethink your budget. A Subaru Outback might work except for the turbo part.
