What do I need to do to ensure my buyer drives away with license plates?

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I am just curious what to do about license plates when my vehicle sells...
dealers would provide temp plates... do I need to provide anything... does the
buyer bring their own plates to transfer... do I transfer my existing plates to
them? Just want to be prepared and was unsure how the plate transfers works
when an individual is the one selling.
