Thank you. My apologies, this continues to make no sense to me about what CarGurus is
doing, even after your detailed response.
"It's just numbers" is exactly what perplexes me - the numbers are exactly the same on
both sides of selling and buying. When I go through the selling process, CarGurus tells me
I am offering a "Good Deal" to buyers at the price I list. People searching only see it as a
"Fair Deal" and won't see my "Good Deal". How does that make any sense? Which is it -
a good deal, or a fair deal?
Better yet, what if this was backwards? Since these "Deals" are not the same, is there
ever a case where a seller will see their car as a "Fair Deal" (better for the seller) and a
buyer sees the same car as a "Good Deal" (better for the seller)? In other words, reverse
the "Deal" tags. Bet you the shiniest nickel you have there are zero instances of this
happening.
Does CarGurus answer any of these via customer service, or do I have to reach out to
them directly through their contact page?
