Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My fan won't run up to max speed.  It runs at Max speed when car first starts then it tapers off and settles at 2nd speed setting.   I can vary between 1st and 2nd speed but that is all.  Same thing happens in all modes, all temperature settings.  Also, it will work normally about 1 time out of 20.

Is the HVAC system set up by setting a certain temperature? The system is all automatic taking in consideration the outside and inside temperature. What you are asking do is to manually over ride the auto function. I would consult the owners manual on how to do this or stop into the Nissan dealer for assistance.

Thanks for answering. I have had the car in to the dealership one time. The dealer replaced the resistor. No help to the problem. The problem happens in both auto and manual mode. The auto mode won't speed up the fan either. This morning when I started the car, the fan ran on Max for 15 minutes then cut back to 2nd setting. Maybe the fan motor is bad.

Re: Thanks for answering..... my dealer didn't do the work when I thought he did. Update as of 5/11 - Got car back in finally to Dealership Service and replaced "AC Variable Blower Control Assembly". Had to take out the gas pedal, brake pedal, and dash under steering wheel to get to it. Solved the problem.

I have this same issue in my Rogue Sport. I just had it diagnosed today. The resistor is on order.
