2003 Ford explorer is stuck in park what could it be ?

Sorry, my lengthy answer earlier didn’t post. I’ll try again: I have a 2001 F150 SuperCrew, had same problem:: Remove and replace Interior Lighting fuse in Fuse Block below steering wheel under dash. I looked at mine twice and it looked good/OK both times. But after no solution replaced it anyway: Problem Solved!! problem solved.

Check to see if the brake lights work, if they don't it could be a blown fuse or the brake light switch itself has went bad. There should be an override slot but you will need to look in the owners manual to find it and see how it works.
