Loud engine fan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 07 BMW 328xi. The engine fan is
very loud every time I drive the car. When I
am on the high way or going like 70mph on
cruise control for an extended time the
temperature light comes on and it starts
cutting out. Had the water pump checked for
leaks and there were no problems found with
it. Could it be the thermostat? Or some kind
of sensor and some other part??

I changed my coolant and it’s still happening. There’s was no codes for the cooling system coming up when I took it to the shop. Kinda stumped here.
