my truck will not fire

i pulled up to the job site shut my truck off and when i came out ten minutes later it
started and chugged like it was out of gas my gas light had just came on but i didnt think
it was empty so i put 4 gallons in and it never would fire again i bought some sure start
and it would fire but not stay running

Sound,s like you may have drug trash into fuel pump.
