sounds like it's dumping fuel , see if the injectors are firing normal or if one is stuck open , the cat is probably ruined any way , who needs it ? It may be part of the inspection , I have a 94 with straight exhaust for 5 years and never had a problem in the vampire state

I have a muffler , that's it

thank you ill try that in the mourning i was sure it was the cat but since i pulled it of today it worse

i have another tbi so its worth trying

Did you ever check the distributor? Check the cap for cracks and burned out contacts under the cap. How does the rotor look. Is it green and full of of junk. Check to see if the distributor hold down is still tight. If it is loose you are going to have to re-time the engine. Pull the distributor see if any teeth are missing from the gear. Look for metal in your oil. How are the plugs and wires? Check them to. See if any are broken crack or just missing a plug. They do happen to fall out sometimes. Are the spark plug wire old? They might be shorting out on the block.
