Tapping grinding sound in 1987 260e

This sound started about two weeks ago and at first only lasted for about ten mins of
driving. But it seems to be getting more constant, comes and goes. Inside it sounds like a
bee flying around or real fast popcorn like ticking. It seems to be coming from the back
lower part of the engine it increases with r.p.m
