my 2002 dts is running hot after driving 30 miles or so we gave changed water pump an thermosate gasket is ther any answer to this problem other than replacing engine or head gasket

has someone put water in there after a hose failure? water will rust you up lickety-split....sometimes beyond reconciliation. Not suggesting that you do this, but your could run WITHOUT the thermostat....back in Wisconsin we'd do anything to keep the sun-floor rust beauties alive~

ethylene glycol will kill your creature buddies, so is best to capture the trailings from your coolant flush in 5 gallon buckets, take them to the autoparts store...they'll pull any glycol out of there with their special "coolant recovery" machine~
