Broken oil dipstick holder ring off the stick still in can't retrieve the rest of stick

Same broken dipstick here on a 2005 SXT Grand Caravan. To remove it I drilled a 1/8 to 1/4 " hole in the exposed plastic using a 3/8" drill bit. Screwed in a long skinny wood screw I had laying around and pulled out the dipstick with a pair of pliers. Pulls out without very much resistance at all. It's quick. Replacement dipstick is about $9.00

You can drill a small hole in the middle and screw a decking or sheetrock screw into it and pull it out with a pliers

i jest had the same problem and after cleaning the inside tubing by soaking a cloth in denatured alcohol removing oil debre, I drilled a 1/8 hole and used a self tap screw to remove it. then I vacuumed out the fragments before pulling out the dip stick

I am doing same thing, pilot drill a 5/64 or 3/32 hole in sheered plastic plug remaining in the dipstick tube ( I even experimented first with the other end (round plastic loop that broke off, to try the hole and screw there - this worked !. I my case the actual screw I use is a screw on the end of a hanger hook ( Kind of home depot hardware thing, about 1/8 in o/d and about 1.25 " long (with a hanger hook, perfect to grab onto on the outside end) Now my problem is that the screw is now gripping the dip stick but my first attempt to pull it out indicates that the dip stick is stuck ! How hard should I pull on this ??? I am spraying a little STP silicon spray on into the tube to loosen it up. Will report back ...

WD40 also -still stuck, finally put a heat gun on the outer tubing, we pulled some more the screw pulled out but no dipstick - to the dealer we go !

Mine was severely stuck ( screw and pull did not work ) I used my blowtorch to heat up the stem and it pulled out with ease. Good luck.

The dipstick, although not much plasic is left, is in good condition. Does anyone know where I can buy just the yellow plastic and the pin that holds them together?
