temp. in my 1988 corvette

HI my name is ralph i have a 1988 corvette with 36000 miles in the heat of the
summer around 95 degree she runs hot around 228 degree and motor starts
to ping and it sounds like nuts and bolts are loose until it cools down can u
help me thank you. Ralph Maietti

I would do a drain and flush on the cooling system and install a new thermostat to see if that helps. Does this car have an unmodified original engine?

In addition if there is any visible corrosion inside the radiator I would get a replacement of get it cleaned.
