Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my fuel gauge is not working properly...i gas up 40 liters full tank everytime...but when i start running, the gauge keeps on dropping then rising up again, even on flat surfaces and cruising speeds...i dont get it...40 liters of gas usually runs out after a full week but when i check it at the end of the 1st day, it's on 1/4 (30 liters) then the next day its back on full tank but a few liters less than 40...it's not accurate anymore...i cant just stop the car every now and then and check the tank, can i? so how do i solve this problem? is it the floater or anything else needs to be replaced?

as you can see in this pic...it's on empty on just the fourth day after i put 40 liters full tank...it still has 10 or 15 liters left in the tank but it's already on empty and the fuel light is already flashing...
