Lincoln Cartier cloth roof care and cleaning

My Lincoln has a cloth roof.  Can I take it through an automatic car was or will it damamge the roof?

I would not take it through a car wash. I would use specially made cleaners and protectants along with low pressure water hose. Even new these tops can leak in a car wash.
