Battery in the faulty fob is about dead. replace it before it's completely dead or you'll have to reprogram the car to that fob. Instructions are in the owners manual.
If your talking about the actual metal key then it sounds like someone changed the key and tumblers for the ignition. That would give you two keys, one for doors and trunk and one just for ignition.

I've gotten " dummy " keys before with out the chip that don't start the car .What one of those is good for I do not know .
