Difference between 2011-2016 Wrangler Unlimited

Asked by Generik1006 Feb 11, 2016 at 04:28 PM about the Jeep Wrangler

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Is there any difference between the model years of the Jeep Wrangler
Unlimited from 2011-2016? Not talking about the Sahara or Rubicon trims,
from what I understand the Sahara is the "luxury" version and the Rubicon is
more outdoor oriented, but the years themselves.

The 2012 and newer Wranglers have a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. The 2011 has the 3.8-liter V6. The newer engine puts out 285hp vs 202 for the older engine. The navigation system in the 2012 is substantially better than the 2011. Not sure what, if any, changes occurred for the navigation system post 2012.

11 and newer also have steering wheel controls, but the big difference is the motor upgrade for 12.
