my friend is giving me his 1978 jeep cherokee but it needs a new engine I would like to put in a high performance one currently has a 4.0 i think which high perfornmance one will fit

    I change engine 3.7 with another 3.7 out of same year and when I bolted it to the transmission there is a 1/2 inch gap if tighten to much then the engine will not turn over
