Rough Shimmy

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The first time i took my Jeep onto the highway, we were going about 75 or so and all of a sudden after hitting a bump, the whole car started shaking and shimmying and felt like the driveshaft was about to come up through the floor, then after about half a minute or so it stopped and she drove perfectly fine and has since. I figured it might be the stabalizer or maybe even just some kink she needed to work out from sitting the past 2 yrs before i bought her. The other day though, i was driving on the highway and saw another cherokee having the same problem. Is this a problem they have??

This is referred to as Death Wobble... It happens when your jeep is lifted or has bigger tires and somthing is either thrown out of alignment or a bushing somewhere in the front end is shot. Theres ALOT of different things that could be causing his, if it gets worse i suggest going to an offroad shop and have them try to cure your death wobble. But for now when it happens just hit the brakes and it ussually goes away.
