Any GM 3.8 starter will fit as long as it is the same year of engine. But why go used when it most likely won’t last more than a month or if your lucky. At least check the price on a good rebuilt unit and then you get some warranty.

1998 thru 2003 are the same BUT these starters are often misboxed with a 3.1L or 3.4L starter. The 3.8L starter is slightly longer and fatter than the others. So be sure to match up the new one with the old one. Also, I agree, buy a rebuilt one from Rockauto.com or your local auto parts store. They're cheap enough! Hope that helps! Jim
