I think I would be correct to say the highest horsepower Ford Explorer of recent manufacture (2019) would be the twin turbo 3.5 liter Duratec engine rated at 365 horsepower. That would be found in the top of the line Platinum model. Our Penna State Police run this engine in their SHO Taurus AWD as well as their Explorers. It should be pretty fast if you can keep in on the blacktop on curves. One of the fastest SUVs would have to be that Jeep with the larger Hemi turbo that puts out over 650 horsepower. You'd have to be nuts to own one.
