think the the starter solenoid has croaked...these are kinda cheap~ it's on the starter...so you can work with that starter, test it, test the solenoid...if defective replace it...if it tests okay, check the power to the solenoid....check your fuses~ Will find an electrical schematic if it's okay~ and works outside the truck on the workbench~

the 22RE is the Sherman tank of engines~ it's American made and the two door pickup is a thing of the past...feels unique to drive this truck...sadly the plastic parts need to be replaced to make it new-ish~ this truck has gone into battle with me (so to speak) and never dies...except the prior owner drove 100,000 miles without changing the oil~ so put a new timing chain, headgasket and it's like a brand new truck....do not care that it has NO airbags...bust a tooth and get your nose punched in...sign me up....not!~

93 22RE. Needed a battery. Son started to install backwards. Positive cable started to smoke a little before I noticed it. It did not burn. Now the starter will not turn over, no interior accessory power (radio, turn signals, dome light, etc..) the headlights still work and the door buzzer. It will push start and run fine. Any suggestions
