Question type: Car Customization

I have a toyota avalon 2013 limited with 225/45/r18 tires. The ride is rough and
it shows every road bumps. I am thinking to use 215/60/r16 but I am not sure if
the gap between caliper and wheel insude diameter is safe

Has the car been lowered? I'm thinking it may have also had the springs changed.

So here is what I found. No 16 will not work. Those that show equal is the best choice for tires. Thanks tennisshoes. The car has not been lowered. This is a common problem with Avalon 2013-15 (after that I am not sure). I want to change the rims to 16" and use 215/60/r16 for tires to have higher profile and hopefully alleviate this issue. The tire diameter will be very near to existing tire and there will be no problem from that point of view. However, the rim inside diameter will be 2" smaller. As far as I know, 16" rims are used for Camry but it seems that the caliper of Avalon is bigger than Camry that will reduce the gap between caliper and rim.

Ok hers is what I found, a good tire and wheel store can take measurements of the clearances, minimum diameter, offset, etc, and then see if they have the wheels in stock, and if they don't they send out the specs and have a set shipped to them or in special cases custom made, sounds expensive to have wheels custom made but I guess it's more common than I thought.
