Very odd place to put a vehicle battery IMO...Is this even safe? Is this considered "German innovation at its finest"? lol

A very good reference for the novice Vanagonaut is Vanagon.com I had an 86 Vanagon and learned A LOT about maintaining these vehicles. The Vanagon.com forurms were indispensible. I also recommend investing in the Bentley manual for the Vanagon...well worth it. Racer_X, it's better better battery placement in the Vanagon than in my dad's bug...I remember getting shocked on that thing in the back seat!
