I put this question out on the PassatWorld web site a couple of days ago and it has been viewed 94 times so far but no answers.  So here goes.....

I just bought a new driver's side, left side, sun visor for my 2007 Passat wagon thinking that would just be a take out two screws, unplug the connection and reverse ifor installation. However, it doesn't seem to be that way. Alldata says that I would need to remove the removal of the upper storage area as well as the grab handle over the door and lower the headliner.

My question for everyone here is do I really need to do all of this or is there an easier way to remove and replace this sun visor?

Yes. I could reach up there and feel it on the other side of a brace. I am wondering if there is enough flex in the headliner to lower it enough to bring it forward or if I will need to go through all the steps that AllData lists.
