where is the release for the gastank in a 1995 golf gl

The release on most of them is just the door locks. There's a pin that engages with the locks via a pneumatic pump that actuates all the other door locks. By unlocking the car, it should be free to open.******** ****That is only something I pasted from another forum, it seems to me there should be a release somewhere, but it's all I could find
