pick up

i have one 1998 model land cruiser prado 484 diesel automatic version clocked 96000 kms
now it shows a difficulty in high range roads
i n steep roads no pick up and rpm in i1.5
what i have to do?

check the CEL (check engine light) to find any trouble codes. not too much experience with diesels but they have an EGR, that could cut performance if it is not working properly.
