Fuel pump remains on even after battery cables
and fuse is removed.

I know my van was due for an oil change. Never thought of that, though. But I do know that when my boyfriend removes the turns the ignition off, remove the keys, unplug the battery, I go buy the gas tank area and can still hear like a 'motor' running. That's why I'm assuming it's the fuel pump.
