It depends what model Bantam. With the earlier Rocam model Bantams the key reader is the bridge between the Key and the Computer Box. The signal is taken from the transponder in the key, 'bounces' off the Lock Barrel steel ring and is read by the key reader. From ther the key reader sends the signal to the Computer Box. With the Newer Euro 2 Computer Box, The Keys are coded to the key reader first, once this is done they are coded to the Computer box and the vehicle will start.

Sounds like a Computer Box problem. When you switch the ignition to ON, The LED next to the clock must come on for two seconds and then go out. Does this LED flash quickly, or not come ON and all or does it come on and stay ON. We repair these computer Boxs called PCMs. We are based in Elardus Park , Pretoria East.
