What turns on and off? The blower or the cold air? If it's the cold air, you've got a low refrigerant/freeze up issue, expansion valve sticking, moisture in the system. Conduct a heat load test. See this post on how to do it. https://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/heat-load-test-on-expansion-valve-system/

Could be low on 134A, a system pressure test will either confirm or deny it. If it says the level is good then you could have a pressure switch going out.
