2001 GMC Sierra dash controls lights

Asked by GuruVR6R4 Sep 09, 2018 at 10:35 AM about the GMC Sierra 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a used 2001 GM Sierra SL. Some of the dash control buttons are
not lighted. Which ones should light up and which ones don't?

Thanks, I will try that. More to my question, are the icons around the headlight control switch, and the HVAC control switches supposed to light up? Only some of the radio/cassette player buttons are lighting up, so that tells me that there are burnt out diodes behind them. The owner's manual, and the Haynes Repair Manual, are not specific about lighted/not lighted dashboard control switches.
