my car is showing me the sign of EPC, what could be the problem

An EPC light on a VW is an acronym for Electronic Power Control that lights up when there is a difficulty with the accelerator pedal. You have "Drive by Wire" in your car not mechanical linkage

it could be the brake lights not working or a defective brake light switch
