changing a signal cam

I'm trying to figure out how to get to the signal cam in my steering column of my 1980 chrysler lebaron station wagon. i dont know how to remove the black metal piece that locks the steering wheel when ignition is turned off. any help would be greatly appreciated.

there is a locking ring that holds the steering wheel lock in place, get a kit for pulling streering wheels and it should have the tool to push down on the peice and take the lock ring out and it will all come apart
