Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Tahoe was behind on some general maintnance, done now, but still idles between 400-500 rpm and goes to 300 then back up when a/c kicks on and off. Found oil residue and oil in intake manifold? How did it get there? How do i get it out? Is this my idle problem?

Sounds like you may have a leak in your intake manifold gasket, or else a vacuum problem. May be as simple as a partially clogged PCV hose, this will blow oil into the air box and intake area as well. Have this checked out, as it sounds like your problem is mechanical as opposed to electrical in nature.
