2002 Blazer "Check Engine Soon" light is on but scanner doens't detect any codes. What do I do now?

2002 Blazer "Check Engine Soon" light is on but when we hooked up the scanner it doesn't show any codes. I need to get it inspected, but I can't if I can't find out what's wrong.

It may be that at the ALDL connector has no power for the scanner? Something not working electrically inside the vehicle?

car runs great and no apparent electrical problems. Only thing I know is wrong is slight power steering fluid leak. Everything else is good.

Gotta get a code or it is a guessing game. Would need someone to look at it to see why the light is on.

It's a yellow light. You think an oil and filter change will do the trick?
