Ours is a Straight 6, not a V-6 (I don't think they make a V6 for the Trailblazer) which i believe is better because it is more mechanically sound. I immediately put a K&N air filter on it. The order is LT, LT2, LT3, & SS. The SS has a corvette V-8 engine and that is the one that i wanted but the dealership was out of them at the time so i got the LT2 which is very nice. It has the leather interior, moon roof, 4WD, and the BOSE stereo system. The biggest disappointment is that for a 2008 vehicle it does NOT have an MP3 or Ipod hookup. It could get better gas mileage, we are averaging around 15 MPG. Other than that we are very happy with the Trailblazer.

well the SS is of course going to be the luxury and sport edition, with an LS2(corvette) V8 engine. its highly moddable, can be made to run 10 second quarter mile times. but it gets much worse gas mpg than the LS and LT's,but luxury and performance wise it is the way to go. if your super worried about gas,go for the LT. and the engines available is the 4.2L vortec 4200 I6,a 5.3L V8 and the 6.0L LS2 V8(which is only available in the SS)
